How can you build self-advocacy skills in your students?
Before we can expect students to self-advocate, they need to recognize and embrace their innate strengths, character attributes and areas of challenge. Once they can do this, then we can help them progress towards Self-Determination. We will examine this well researched theory and show how it serves as the foundation for students exercising self-advocacy at school. All educators should plan to attend this session presented by Chris Harris, MEd, Director of EBC Schools at CHC.
